Hassan Joho says Kenyans should not be ‘empathetic’ to him given his tribulations adding that they do not much what his political master, Raila Odinga, went through in 80s.
The firebrand Mombasa Governor is being probed by several government agencies over alleged tax evasion, forgery of academic certificates and corruption.
In his press conference on Tuesday, Joho admitted scoring a Grade D- in 1993 KCSE exams adding that he was proud of it and that it serves as an inspiration to young people.
“I schooled in a difficult environment and managed that grade (D-). I am not ashamed of failing because I picked up and excelled in life,” said the ODM deputy party leader.
“Jubilee should know that I cannot shift my political stand. After all he (Uhuru Kenyatta) should know that Raila Odinga went through worst things than what I am going through,” he added.
Criminal Investigation Department has summoned Mr. Joho and is scheduled to appear on Wednesday to record a statement over alleged forgery.
Despite suspicions over his academic credentials, on Monday his former school Serani secondary school confirmed that he was a former student in the institution.
