Governor Hassan Joho has said the NASA brigade in Mombasa will launch a mammoth campaign in the region to ensure Raila Odinga clinches the presidency.
This comes after the Supreme Court on Friday nullified last month’s presidential election.Joho said NASA does not fear going back to the ballot and only wants a transparent electoral process. The county boss said the Supreme Court acknowledged the efforts made by Kenyans and especially Coast residents by ensuring their votes were not wasted.“In 2013 we accepted the Supreme Court ruling, and I think it is our colleagues’ turn to experience the same now,” added Joho.On his part, Mvita MP Abdulswamad Shariff Nassir said they will conduct an intensive and extensive campaign to ensure NASA emerges victorious in the fresh polls.Speaking in Mvita on Saturday, Nassir said Coast residents have been given a second chance to ensure Raila becomes the next Kenyan president.“We should give Raila more votes from the Coast region this time round as we all need change,” he noted. He, however, urged residents to engage in peaceful campaigns in a bid to maintain the peace and calm that has been experienced in the region.“The Supreme Court answered our prayers. It is our turn to conduct peaceful campaigns that will make us win the presidency,” he added.
