After several weeks of ceasefire, Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho has reignited his political war with President Uhuru Kenyatta who he has engaged in verbal spat in the past.
While alleging a plot by the Uhuru administration to bar him from vying, the fiery Governor said the plot is bound to fail as his leadership is God-given.
According to Joho who was speaking during the unveiling of his running mate William Kingi on Thursday, the President has resorted to underhand tactics to frustrate his political ambitions because he can't be defeated in a fair election.
"In 2013, the opposition was overwhelming but it had already been written by God. The case will be the same in August but I am going to triumph," he said.
Joho who is facing a real political test in his one decade-long political career amid shifting political tide on the ground is now expected to hit the campaign trail to win a second term in office.
