Okoth said the governor has great potential to transform the country.

Joho, he said, had demonstrated good leadership as Mombasa governor by delivering good results.

Okoth said on Wednesday that Kenya was likely to have a Muslim President in the near future.

“We are likely to have a Muslim President. It's going to be somebody called Governor Ali Hassan Joho. That is the most potential first Muslim President of Kenya,” he said on KTN.

Joho is the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) deputy party leader.

He served as a Member of Parliament for Kisauni constituency before being elected governor in 2013 general election.

He was appointed Assistant Minister for Transport in 2012 by former President Mwai Kibaki during the grand coalition government.
