As Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho seeks fresh mandate amid fierce competition, his campaign team has outlined what his administration intends to do in the next five years if reelected.
Speaking in Mvita, Joho’s running mate William Kingi said that ODM deputy party leader’s leadership intends to empower the youth during the next five years.
According to Kingi, should Joho win a second term in office, they will roll out a revolving fund for the youth and people living with disabilities to enable them to start businesses.
Dr. Kingi further said that the county leadership will prioritize education matters by rolling out bursary funds for children from poor backgrounds.
Further, Kingi said that the county leadership will fight any attempt by the national government to create a dry port outside the region which he said will deny Mombasa residents business opportunities.
While urging the residents to re-elect the firebrand Governor, Kingi said that Joho is the only politician from the region who is standing for the rights of his people.
The former university don who took a swipe at the Jubilee regime said that the Uhuru Kenyatta-led government has made life unbearable, adding that it’s high time Kenyans should reject it at the ballot.
