Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho's ally Ibrahim Kharti has blamed Coast Regional Coordinator Nelson Marwa for his woes.
This comes after the businessman was arrested last Friday, a move that compelled Joho to storm the Urban Police Station to demand for his release.
Speaking on Tuesday shortly asfter his release, Khatri claimed that Marwa ordered for his arrest just to get back as Joho.
Kharti, who is said to deal with high end automobiles from different foreign nations including Britain and Germany, said that he no interest in politics despite his long term friendship with Joho’s family.
"I am not affiliated to any political side because I am just a businessman," he said, as quoted by the Standard.
Khatri further criticised Marwa for linking him to drug trafficking and illegal possesion of weapons, threatening to sue him for defamation.
"I did not even pay my bond. I was released on a P 22, what Marwa is claiming is only to ruin my name. I am surprised why he is doing this. I am not a politician," he said.
