Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya on Saturday reiterated his intention to contest for the presidential elections in 2022 on an ODM ticket.

The second-time governor and ODM Deputy Party Leader said he was ready to be Kenya's president.

Speaking during the funeral service of the late Senior Private Hesborn Morris Otuma who passed on in line of duty in Somalia last month, Oparanya called for support in his bid be Kenya's 5th president.

His revelations came even as Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho, who is also the ODM Deputy Party Leader declared he would vie for presidency in 2022 through ODM ticket.

Kilifi Governor ODM's Amason Kingi has also shown interest in vying for the country's top seat. He however said he would consult with Joho and reach a consensus on who to support amongst themselves.

Oparanya was speaking on Saturday in Butere.
