Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho's security guard is among those who were injured during a chaotic ODM rally in Migori Town on Monday.The chaos are said to have left several people nursing injuries.Mvita MP Abdulswamad Nassir who had accompanied the Governor to Migori to officially open the ODM County office told The Star that their car was shot at three times in what he described as an assassination attempt against Joho.“The car was shot at three times and it is by the Grace of God that we survived that attempt on our lives,” said Nassir, as quoted by the daily.Drama started when Migori Governor Okoth Obado stormed Posta grounds where the rally was taking place and walked straight to the podium where Kisumu Senator Prof Anyang Nyong'o was making his address, a move that triggered a political showdown as the crowd booed and threw water bottles, stones and shoes at the podium.To respond to the ensuing orchestra of chaos, Obado's guards reportedly fired in the air, a move that further fueled the acrimony as nasty scenes replayed themselves, with a bullet going through a VIP seat in an area where dignitaries were seated.Earlier, the pro and anti-Obado factions had engaged the police in running battles as the two rival groups hurled stones at each other.
