Mombasa Deputy Governor Hazel Katana who recently ditched ODM for Jubilee Party has denied owing the county Sh3 million in unsurrendered imprest.
This comes barely a week after the County Director of Communication Richard Chacha said Katana had not been receiving her salary due to unsurrendered imprests and unpaid salary advances amounting to Sh3.9 million.
However, in a quick rejoinder, Katana who is eying the Mombasa senatorial seat denied the allegations, terming them as malicious.
"I wonder why this issue of imprest is coming up now," she asked.
Katana who was officially received by President Uhuru Kenyatta last week blamed some 'dark forces' that work with her boss Governor Hassan Joho for her woes.
The deputy governor insisted that she had not been paid for 15 months.
