Mombasa Deputy Governor Dr William Kingi held a consultative breakfast meeting with ODM party leader, former Prime Minister Raila Odinga at his rural home in Opoda, Bondo in Siaya County.
Kingi who deputises Governor Ali Hassan Joho, met Odinga on Monday morning, a day after Odinga arrived in Nyanza, his political support base.
The two deliberated on pertinent issues of national importance revolving around the National Reconciliation Agenda and the 5th Annual Devolution Conference that kicked off in Kakamega on April 23rd-27th.
"The people of Mombasa, fully support H.E Raila Odinga on his mission towards reconciling the nation," said Kingi, who was flanked by Mombasa Sub County Coordinator Idris Abdirahman.
Odinga joined residents of Nyahera for a thanksgiving church service in honour of the Kisumu Governor Prof. Peter Anyang' Nyong'o. Odinga was received by the governor alongside his Deputy Dr. Ochieng' Owili on Sunday.
Also present were nominated senator Rose Nyamunga, Senator Petronila Were, County Secretary Olang'o Onudi, former Kisumu County DG Ruth Odinga, MCAs, several CeCs and a host of other county officials from the County government.
Raila thanked residents for electing him and urged them to unite together and support his reconciliation agenda that was ignited by the famous handshake.
"It is the only way for us to realize the devolution agenda," he said.
He said both the executive, legislature and the county assemblies must cooperate to ensure that devolution realises its full potential, being one of the keynote speakers at the 5th annual devolution conference.
