The ODM deputy party leaders is accused of forging a 1992 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Examination KCSE examination result slip with a Grade C+.
The case will commence on June 30, 2017.
The governor will defend himself through sworn affidavit after Justice Erick Ogola ordered the parties must give their evidence from June 30 after he rejected lawyer James Orengo application who wanted the case to be heard from July 24. Last month Joho went to court and obtained orders stopping the state from prosecuting him over the alleged forgery.Orengo who is representing Joho told the court that he had a busy schedule in July with election related cases in Nairobi and wanted the court to allow him to be heard in July."Among the cases I am representing my clients include the one involving tender for buying of ballot papers," said Orengo. Senior Assistant Director of Public Prosecution Alex Muteti insisted that the application should be heard in June instead of July. The governor has denied any knowledge of having applied to join University of Nairobi with a forged 1992 KCSE examination result slip of Grade C+."I am a stranger to the allegation by Janet Mbeta that when applying for admission into the University of Nairobi I presented a forged certificate indicating I had attained an aggregate of C+ in the 1992 KCSE examination at Serani Secondary School," said Joho.
