Kenyans will still need one another in order to prosper irrespective of who wins the August 8 election, Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho has said.

Joho popularly referred to by his supporters as Governor 001 said without peace it would be hard for the country to realise development.He made the remarks at Msambweni on Monday in the company of MPs Suleiman Dori and Rashid Bedzimba when he met Muslims faithful.He said there was no point in Kenya descending into violence like in 2007/08 when over 1,300 people lost their lives as over 650,000 were displaced following Post-Election Violence that came after a disputed presidential poll.“We must always share messages of peace,” Joho said.“This will promote peaceful existence as we move closer to the August 8, general election. I reminded my fellow countrymen that we need one another even after the elections.”Jubilee politicians have been accusing the opposition NASA of sawing seeds of hatred ahead of the election in which opposition leader Raila Odinga will take on President Uhuru Kenyatta.Uhuru and his deputy William Ruto early in the year accused Raila of perpetuating hatred among Kenyans by dividing them along tribal and regional lines.Raila on the other hand accuses Jubilee of orchestrating divisionism in the country through discriminate government appointments.The former Prime Minister claims the Jubilee administration, in making State appointments favours people from Central and Rift Valley regions where Uhuru and Ruto respectively come from.Uhuru says his administration serves Kenyans equally since he was elected president to lead the over 45 million Kenyans and not people from specific regions.
