With only six days remaining to the August 8 polls, Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho has called on residents to embrace peace during and after the elections.

Speaking at Bamburi Pirates Public Beach on Sunday, Joho cautioned residents against being used by politicians to create violence during and after the polls."I want you to assure me that you are going to maintain peace during this campaign period. All tribes must live united and in peace. There is no Kikuyu, Luo or Pokomo, we are all Kenyans. Don't accept to be divided along tribal lines. Don't accept to be divided along religious lines. There is no Muslim or Christian in politics, we are all Kenyans,” said the fiery Governor amid cheers from the supporters. While asking residents to rally behind NASA presidential flag bearer Raila Odinga and his running mate Kalonzo Musyoka, Joho said the duo stand for the good of Kenya. The outspoken Governor asked President Uhuru Kenyatta to prepare to lose in the polls.Joho also asked residents to adopt the six-piece voting pattern, arguing that Mombasa is an ODM zone and residents should ensure Jubilee suffers a humiliating defeat in the county.
