Sports CeC Munywoki Kyalo and the Director of Countering Violent Extremism (CVE), this week visited the City of Kristiansand in Norway, under the Strong Cities programme.
The purpose of this visit was to share best practices on prevention and countering violent extremism.
Mombasa Governor Hassan Ali Joho is the global Chairperson of the Strong Cities Counter Narrative, which has increased its participant cities from 25 to 120.
During the trip, they interacted with officials from various institutions and were able to share on how cooperation, inclusion, engagement of youth, among other attributes can help towards cohesion and building a safer society.
"The Mayor of Kristiansand, Harald Furre, was very keen on and committed to establishing long term cooperation between Kristiansand and Mombasa," said the Sports department on Friday.
