The newly appointed ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna has officially taken over his office at the party headquarters in Nairobi.
Sifuna was received on Monday afternoon by the party's Executive Director Oduor Ong'wen, Legal Affairs officer Tony Moturi and the National Youth Coordinator Benson Musungu.
In his speech during the ODM's National Governing Council where Sifuna was ratified, Party Leader Raila Odinga said ODM was reassembling and rebooting to meet the expectations of its supporters around the country.
"A new generation has joined the rank of ODM Leadership and support base. This new generation can and must match or better, surpass the older one in ability, in courage, and in resolution. When our people are confronted with the dangers of an incompetent dictatorship, then we ODM, must be, as we have always been: competent courageous and resolute. Together, we will stop the steady rush into abyss," he said on Friday.
Raila's deputy, Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho challenged Sifuna and his new leadership team to work together and traverse the country.
He said the team should visit all the 47 counties to address issues of ODM, and popularize the party.
