The revitalization of the party began with the reconstitution of various leadership positions on Friday, with lawyer Edwin Sifuna being appointed the party's Secretary General, replacing Agnes Zani.

"I would like to congratulate the new office holders and thank those leaving office for their dedicated service to the party," said Joho who is also the Deputy Party leader.

The meeting chaired by ODM party leader Raila Odinga, saw members resolve amongst other things, to constitute a task force to review the National Elections Board with a view to strengthening the internal electoral processes.

This task force would report in 90 days.

They also resolved to intensify and deepen the new phase of our struggle, with Joho saying the Jubilee government had reversed all the gains of the country's democracy by media shutdowns, harassment of the Judiciary and civil society.

"We remain committed to electoral justice. This crime upon the people of Kenya shall not go unresolved," he said.

"I’d like to encourage my brothers and sisters of the Orange family. I’d like to tell you to stay strong and keep the faith. It is the lesson of history that eventually all dictatorships bow and the people prevail," added Joho.
