Women from Kisii and Nyamira counties have been urged to join women groups to access support from both the county government and national government.
According to Kisi Women Representative Alice Chae, by forming and joining some groups it will help the women to be empowered in the society
Speaking on Monday at Gusii stadium, Nyamira Women representative said many women in the region have not joined in groups hence it is difficult for them to get funding since you can not benefit as individuals when it comes to the support of women groups.
“As the women who were elected in a bid of helping and empowering women in the society I am ready to support the women in this region that's why am telling them to join groups which will enable them to be empowered,” said Chae.
She, therefore, urged women to form or join groups to access funds such as Women Enterprise Fund in a bid to reduce a high level of dependency.
In addition, she advised them to know their role more so in participating in the election and even going for political posts in both national and county government.
