Controversial Kisumu Central MP Ken Obura has been asked to mend fence with his party ODM if he is to increase his chances of retaining his seat come the 2017.

The first time MP has in the recent past come under sharp criticism for his perceived association with the Jubilee coalition, something he neither approves nor denies, with the latest being his attendance of the jubilee prayer rally at Afraha stadium nearly one month ago.

The development sparked off condemnation from Luo Elders and politicians alike.

However, MCAs from his constituency have asked the MP to mend fences with his party if he is to keep his 'fading' political career alive.

Kondele MCA Gabriel Ochieng also lashed out at the legislator over his association with Jubilee.

"We ask Hon Obura to come out clean and publicly apologize to the ODM hierarchy and his constituents as well. He still has a lot to offer if he gets serious about it. He has the energy and enthusiasm but only party loyalty will cost him if he doesn’t address that problem in advance before it gets too late for him’, said Mr Oyugi on Friday.
