Uasin Gishu Jubilee Members of the County Assembly have re-elected Josphat Lowoi as the leader of majority.
Lowoi, a close friend of Governor Jackson Mandago, got 27 votes while his main rival for the post, Gilbert Tenai, managed 15 votes in an election held at the Travelers Hotel in Mombasa.
Lowoi said he would use his position to continue ensuring the people of Uasin Gishu get services delivered to them.
“I am delighted to continue serving as the majority leader in the county,” said Lowoi.
The majority leader is expected to resume office on Tuesday 19, when the house resumes its normal sitting.
Kapsaos MCA Hosea Lamai was unopposed to retain his position as the Deputy Speaker while Ngeny’ilel MCA David Kiptoo Sing’oei also retained his position as the Chief Whip.
