Speaking during the Jubilee prayer rally, Uhuru firmly consented that no other Kenyan would ever set foot at the international criminal court at The Hague, Netherlands. The statement from the head of state will be good news to the journalist who is in the wanted list.

Barasa has been out of the public limelight in the recent past due to his two-year warrant of arrest issued by the global court.

Barasa, who has been named as one of the many individuals who are accused of witness interference, has all through maintained his innocence in the matter and the recent sentiments from the commander in chief could bring a sigh of relief to him.

Other Kenyans in Bensouda's list of witness tampering are Paul Gicheru, who is a lawyer and Philip Kipkoech.

The government has been firm to it’s’ stand that Kenya has made judicial developments and that it can comfortably deal with its domestic issues without an external compelling force.

The ICC court came to be known in the country after six Kenyans including the president were named by the immediate former ICC prosecutor, Moreno Ocampo. All the six mentioned have since been acquitted by the global court.

Kenya has been in the forefront rallying the African countries to make a collective exit from the court citing open discrimination in its mandate.
