Hours after the assault of Citizen TV reporter Francis Gachuri by hooligans at the Wiper Party headquarters in Nairobi, the reporter has come out to speak about the incident.

Gachiuri took to social media to dismiss speculation that he was injured in the incident.

"I am fine. Very fine. The incident at Wiper Hqs was unfortunate but all is well. Thank you for your kind regards," he wrote.

Together with a Gachuri and a cameraman working with NTV, Gachiuri was assaulted by the hooligans who did not want certain media houses to cover the Parliamentary Group meeting.

Already NASA has issued an apology with coalition leader Raila Odinga calling Gachiuri in person to apologise.

"I have spoken to Mr Wachira Waruru (Group managing director RMS) and apologised to him," Raila stated.
