Candidates who sat for the 2016 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) received all their results. There were no results canceled.

During the release of the results, Thursday, Education Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang’i noted all candidates would receive their results.

This was different from 2015, where 2,709 candidates did not receive their results, after they were canceled for allegedly engaging in malpractice.

This year, Matiang'i said only 21 cases of examination irregularities and attempted cheating were reported.

15-year-old Victor Oduor Odhiambo from Daisy Special School in Kakamega County scored 437 marks and toped this year's KCPE.

Popularly known as Victor, the boy scored 97 (A) in English, 99 (A) in Kiswahili, 87 (A) Mathematics, 71 (B+) in Science, and 83 (A)

in Social Studies and Religion .

According to the ambitious boy who wants to study Medicine in University, the results shocked him.

"At first I was in shock and could not believe the results I got on my phone. I later got a call from teachers, who started singing and celebrating, chanting my name in joy as soon as I arrived in the school compound,'' he said.

"I want to join Alliance High School for secondary education,'' he added.

In Nairobi County, Lumumba Curtis Adrian from Rockfields Junior School in Komarock scored 434 marks, while Muchira Aevin Njaramba scored 424 marks, to top in the County.
