Former Cabinet Minister Kirugi Joseph Laiboni M'Mukindia has joined the National Super Alliance (Nasa).

Kirugi, defected president Uhuru Kenyatta's Jubilee Party, for the Raila Odinga-led coalition, Thursday, saying they realised the Opposition had interests of Kenyans at heart.

While receiving the former Science and Technology Minister, who served between 1992 and 1997, Odinga said Kirugi was a true nationalist, whose entry to Nasa, serves as great benefit, to every Nasa supporter.

"Our movement seeks to establish an inclusive leadership that has space for all Kenyans regardless of color, creed or religion. We respect and value every Kenyan's contribution towards building our nation,'' Raila said.

Kirugi also served as Central Imenti Member of Parliament, in Meru county.
