Bobaracho ward residents in Kisii County are happy following the completion of Kiong’anyo Water Projectof last week.
The water project was started so as to address water shortage in the region.
"This is great improvement and we now bid water shortage crisis goodbye. For years we have really suffered," said James Nyabuto a local.
Another resident Jane Kaka, said that the water project would assist more than 10,000 people who reside in the area.
This comes at a time when the Gusii water and sanitation company announced that it will kick off water rationing in Kisii County.
This according to the company's director Zachariah Moguche was because the company cannot produce water that can sustain the residents.
"Their is a drop in water levels and for that reason we want to start water rationing as from next month," he said.
