Nairobi Jubilee Party leaderr have taken a swipe on governor Evans Kidero's re-election bid, arguing that the County Chief is unfit for a second term.
Speaking on Sunday, the leaders accused Kidero of failing to deliver key services to city residents, calling on locals to vote out the opposition governor during the 2017 polls.
Led by Nominated MP Johnson Sakaja and Woman Representative Rachel Shebesh, the leaders challenged Nairobi residents to instead back Senator Mike Sonko's bid, who is seeking to unseat Kidero on a Jubilee Party ticket.
“Sonko, who has no funds for buying medicine, has set up clinics in slums, while health centres under the county government have no medicine. Stop cheap politics, you are the governor, we are not going to entertain side shows,” Shebesh noted.
“We are offering this [medical care] under the governorship of Sonko, medical care for the people of Nairobi because we know with the more than Sh1 billion collected, we will have enough money to provide medical supplies," she added.
