According to the Star, Chief Registrar Anne Amadi denied claims that the commission is yet to sent Justice Maraga’s name to the President.

"We did forward the name to the President on the same day and a man who identified himself as a James signed the delivery book on Friday at 5.45 pm," said Amadi as quoted by the Star.

On Sunday, State House Spokesman Manoah Esipisu had claimed that Uhuru was still waiting for the commission to forward its choice of Chief Justice nominee.

"Once [Uhuru] receives it, he will apply what is in his mind and respond as required by the law," said Esipisu as quoted by Daily Nation.
