Jua Kali Ward Bodaboda operators have decried high cases of insecurity and want the Uasin Gishu County government to intervene.
Speaking to Journalists at Jua Kali Shopping Centre on Tuesday, the operators claimed that cases of crime targeting them have risen sharply.
They claimed that criminals are targeting them and that it has become difficult for them to conduct their businesses especially at night since they do not know genuine passengers and those pretending to be one only to rob them when they reach half way.
The area Bodaboda Chairman Gerishon Kimutai urged the county government to address the issue of insecurity so that they can resume their business as usual.
“Our businesses is going down day by day because of insecurity, we can no longer conduct our work comfortably, especially past 8 o’clock,” said Kimutai confirming that three Bodaboda operators have been robbed in the last four days.
He said that despite them registering their complaints at Turbo and Jua Kali Police Posts, nothing has been forthcoming in relation to curbing the vice.
Kimutai asked Uasin Gishu County Commissioner to intervene and guarantee their security, failure to which they say that they will hold demonstrations and paralyse transport.
