There was jubilation at Bondo Township primary school after the public school posted impressive results in the just released KCPE examinations.
More than six candidates from the school scored above 400 marks with the highest Sherryne Macrine Owino scoring 425 marks.
She was closely followed by John Eddy Ogolla (420), Zacharry Otieno (417), Ephy Pauline (415), Adam George Ogolla (413) while Paul Otieno and Henry Benjamin each scored 401 marks.
Speaking at the school on Tuesday, the school deputy head teacher Mr. Lawi Otieno stated that the hardwork of the pupils and the teacher’s dedication has been rewarded.
Mr. Otieno termed the achievement as the best results ever posted by the school in KCPE examination in the recent past.
“I can say that this is by far our best achievement in years. Last year we had only one student with 406 marks, the candidates this year we have more than six and the results are still trickling in,” he stated
School Board of management chairman John Odhiambo Ochar could not hide his joy saying that the candidates have made not only the school but also the community very proud.
Ochar revealed that a total of 131 candidates sat their KCPE examination in the school making it one of the highest examination centers in the region.
Ochar on the other hand asked the successful candidates not to be carried away by the results saying it is just the beginning of their academic journey in life.
He appealed to education stakeholders and the area MP Gideon Ochanda as well as TSC to improve infrastructure and employ more teachers in the school since it has very high student population.
At the neighboring Atilili primary school, Cheryl Amondi emerged top with 413 marks.
