Jubilee Party has the highest number of aspirants who are seeking to vie for various political seats in the upcoming August general elections. 

This is according to an analysis from the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).

The analysis indicates President Uhuru Kenyatta’s party has 1,801 nominees followed by Raila Odinga’s ODM party, which has 1,289.

Other parties who have submitted the candidates are Maendeleo Chap Chap (911), Kanu (695), Amani National Congress (639), Wiper Democratic Party (632), Ford Kenya (631), Alliance Real Change (19), Liberal Democratic Party (19), Republican Liberty party (18), Diligence Development Alliance (16), Ukweli party (13, Forum of Republican Democracy (10) and Roots Party of Kenya (4) among others.

At least 11,418 aspirants have been submitted to IEBC by 64 political parties that will take part in the August poll. The total number of the nominees is 16,368, this is with the 4,950 independent candidates included.

However, the Political Parties Disputes Tribunal is yet to complete some of the nomination disputes. At least 263 cases were filed and the hearings are expected to come to an end, Friday.
