Jubilee Secretary General Raphael Tuju during a past press conference. He has announced new strategy to counter Nasa coalition [capitalfm.co.ke]. The Jubilee Party has adopted a new strategy which is meant to counter NASA's adopt-a-polling-station aimed at protecting its presidential votes during August 8 polls. The new strategy will shift Jubilee campaigns focus to electoral wards as the August 8 polls enter the home stretch. A source told the Star on Sunday that the strategy will involve committees at the more than 41, 000 polling stations across the country. The source noted that the strategy changed after learning that some of the aspirants were only campaigning for themselves. For instance, Jubilee has been using MPs in Western to penetrate the region perceived to be a NASA stronghold. Jubilee party secretary general Raphael Tuju has said that the party will use MCA aspirants as the focal point. The strategy will cost Sh410 million to implement across the 1,450 wards in the country.“Campaign materials and financial support will be issued to MCA aspirants as that is where most of the party activities will be. The funding will begin this week,” Tuju said while addressing Jubilee aspirants from Western last weekend.Tuju said Jubilee will work on showing Kenyans why they should re-elect President Uhuru Kenyatta 'not because they love him, but because of what he can do for them'.The NASA plan involves having polling station committees with a chairman, secretary, treasurer, a youth and a woman.
