Makueni MP Daniel Maanzo has claimed that President Uhuru Kenyatta's Jubilee Party is afraid of the opposition's National Super Alliance (NASA) and is trying to weaken the Alliance ahead of the August 8 polls.
The MP claims that Jubilee party operatives are fueling speculations that Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka wants to ditch the opposition in efforts to weaken NASA.
Maanzo says that Jubilee has tensed and is working on strategies to weaken NASA ahead of the August 8 general election.
Speaking to journalists on Wednesday at Parliament Buildings in Nairobi, Maanzo said that President Uhuru Kenyatta's Jubilee Party knows it will lose against the opposition.
"Jubilee has sensed defeat and wants to weaken the opposition by trying to poach its top leaders," he said on Wednesday.
Maanzo said that NASA is unbreakable adding that time for President Uhuru Kenyatta to exit State House has come.
"Jubilee should know that they cannot buy any opposition leader even with their Billions," he said as quoted by the Standard.
The Makueni MP stated that the opposition is serious and will not take chances as it seeks to unseat Jubilee government from power.
Maanzo urged Kenyans to support the opposition saying it has the solutions to problems facing the country. The Makueni MP cited massive graft, tribalism and marginalization of some communities as areas where Jubilee government has failed.
There have been speculations that Kalonzo is heading out of NASA to form a third force party that will battle with Jubilee party and NASA in the August 8 general election.
The Wiper party leader has, however, come out to deny the claims terming them as malicious and meant to create disunity in the opposition ahead of the August 8 polls.
Kalonzo says that he cannot be enticed or wooed by Jubilee or anyone else to ditch the opposition.
The former Vice President states that he is in opposition to stay and that his bid for the presidential seat on NASA ticket is still on.
