Jubilee Party agents in Msambweni Constituency, Kwale County who took part in the August 8 General Election are now demanding to be paid their remaining dues.
According to their leader Salim Shee, 135 agents from Ukunda, Bongwe-Gombato, Ramisi and Kinondo wards participated in the exercise and each was paid Sh2,500 out of the supposed Sh4,500.Efforts to seek help from Governor Salim Mvurya and other Jubilee officials in the region have not borne fruit, he added.“We were assured by the Nairobi Jubilee office that our money had been released in full and paid to Mvurya's account by mistake,” said Shee as quoted by The Star.On Sunday, JP coordinator Patrick Kioko said they have sought the intervention of Devolution CS Mwangi Kiunjuri so that the agents get their dues.Last week on Wednesday, the agents confronted the CS at Mafisini demanding to be paid.Efforts by the Governor to settle the matter through his administrators failed as Kiunjuri insisted he listens to the agents’ complaints.Kiunjuri tasked Msambweni administrators and JP officials in the county to follow up on the subject and make sure it’s rested. On his part, Shee said they were satisfied by Kiunjuri's response.
