The newly formed Jubilee Alliance Party is a national party and not a party for just two tribes as its opponents want it to appear, Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri has said.

Speaking in his constituency on Wednesday, Kimani Ngunjiri said that the new party will bring all Kenyans on board regardless of their tribe.

He said that the party was formed to kill the notion and perception that the Jubilee Alliance was a union for the Kikuyus and Kalenjins.

He said that the new party will open offices in very corner of the nation including in the opposition strongholds.

“When we formed the jubilee coalition many went around saying that it was a marriage for the Kikuyu and Kalenjin communities and that is why the single party has been formed to bring together all Kenyans," he said.

"Just like KANU was a national party, the Jubilee Alliance Party is also a national party which will be open to all Kenyans irrespective of their tribe. The leadership of the new party is from across the national and those opposing the party should give it time,” added the MP.

Ngujiri welcomed the move by the CORD coalition to also form a single party saying that it will instil discipline in the country’s politics.
