Speaking during the burial of a sub-county Maendeleo Ya Wanawake official in Lari on Thursday, Lari MP Mburu Kahangara and Kiambu Women Representative Annah Nyokabi said this was a good move in ensuring cohesiveness.

Kahangara said it was a great call that was even supported by President Uhuru Kenyatta as he extended an olive branch to the opposition, and particularly Cord to dialogue during the requiem mass of the late Fidel Castro Odinga.

Nyokabi said the way the national dialogue would be held or handled would determine its success or failure.

“We are for dialogue as Cord asks for, but Cord must now there are institutions through which dialogue can be carried out and that speaking about dialogue in public meetings like funerals is not dialogue,” said Nyokabi.

The residents of Lari also rallied behind their dealers saying the country should not be polarised by political leaders.

“We support development in this country, but some of the behaviour of our leaders results to wastage of time, a resource crucial in development,” said Hannah Wawira.
