The legislator told Manga residents during the homecoming of Kitutu Masaba MP Timothy Bosire on Sunday that instead, they should take the money, spend it, but vote for Cord during the election date.

"They have stolen your money and they will bring it to woo you so as to vote for them but I beg you when they come, eat the money but vote for Cord," said Jumwa on Sunday.

She further claimed it's the government's plan to arrest some Cord legislators in order to divert attention from Jubilee MPs who have loose tongues so that it can look innocent.

"Kenyans know who are loose tongued. They know who uses abusive words and language that is tribal and I wonder how we are involved in matters of hate speech," claimed the MP.

Her remarks were echoed by Mr Bosire who insisted he never said anything that amounted to hate speech to warrant him a place in police custody.

"I did not say anything worthy hate speech, I only cautioned the President to talk to his people to stop hate speech to Kenyans and instead I was arrested and locked in cells for three days," said Bosire.
