Former Mombasa senator Hassan Omar has heaped praise  on his new political home Jubilee after ditching Wiper Party, an affiliate of the NASA coalition.

Speaking at a Friday meeting with elders at a luncheon, Omar said that it became difficult working with NASA because the party was rigid to other opinions.

Omar said that Jubilee were listening and could accommodate other people's ideas, and that this was the main reason he jumped ship.

He criticised NASA leader Raila Odinga claiming he turned a blind eye to corruption, hooliganism and dark deals involving his close people.

Omar revealed that before joining Jubilee, the party agreed to grant him four requests that would benefit the people of Mombasa.

Part of these, he said, was the need for the county to greatly run its education sector.

“Our standards of education are very low. We cannot compete with others from the countryside," he said.
