Jubilee aspirant Philip Charo has expressed confidence that he will clinch the Malindi parliamentary seat that is currently held by ODM's Willy Mtengo. Charo said this time round Mtengo will not withstand his strong political 'tsunami' as he is staging a comeback after he lost to him in last year's by-election.Speaking during a meeting with leaders from Shella ward in Kasufini, Charo said there is nothing to smile about since Mtengo took over leadership, adding that his days are numbered. He further said it was a grave mistake for the Malindi voters to reject a visionary leader like him only to elect a non-performer. “Malindi people made a big mistake by electing Mtengo. How can one be a leader who operates alone without the support of MCAs, this hinders development," said Charo, as quoted by The Star. The aspirant has been holding a series of meetings with Malindi residents as he seeks to rise to power in the forthcoming general polls. Charo will battle it out with Peter Mwawana for the Jubilee ticket during the nominations.
