Kesses parliamentary aspirant Swarup Mishra has been admitted in an Eldoret hospital after he was attacked.
Reports indicate Mishra was beaten by a charged crowed said to be attached to his political rival, Allan Kosgey, Tuesday morning, near his office in Eldoret.
Kosgey is also eyeing the Kesses parliamentary seat on a Jubilee Party ticket.
The attack on Mishra came moments after he had met his supporters at a local hotel.
Sources say the hopeful was accused by the goons for trespassing into his competitor’s territory.
Mishra sustained neck and stomach injuries and was rushed to Mediheal Hospital in Eldoret Town.
According to his doctor, Parag Patil, the Jubilee aspirant had difficulties in breathing and complained of a sharp neck pain which he sustained as a result of the confrontation.
“A team of doctors from the hospital are working together to monitor his condition. At the moment we cannot say whether he is out of danger or in danger but we shall keep on updating you,” said Dr Patil.
However, Kosgey’s team has distanced itself from the incident claiming Mishra was the one who stormed the hotel where they were having a meeting to strategise for the day leading to the clash.
Police have launched investigations into the matter.
