Supporters of the National Super Alliance (NASA) Presidential candidate Raila Odinga have been asked to remain calm and rally behind the President-elect Uhuru Kenyatta.

Uasin Gishu governor-elect Jackson Mandago says there was no need for protests and violence over the presidential results since they reflected the will of the people.

Addressing the press at the Uasin Gishu county headquarters in Eldoret town on Monday, Mandago who was reelected on a Jubilee ticket noted that Jubilee wan the Presidential race in a free and fair contest.

He pointed out the win of Jubilee MP candidates in some of the traditional NASA strongholds as a clear indication that President-elect beat Raila Odinga.

"To be honest, Jubilee won the Presidency squarely and I don't see any reason why the opposition is rejecting the results," Mandago noted.

"We scooped four MP seats in Kakamega, three in Bungoma and several in Coast including all elective positions in Lamu county as well several in the Kamba region and all those who voted for the Jubilee MPs in the NASA strongholds also voted for President Uhuru Kenyatta," he added.

President Kenyatta was declared the winner for the last Tuesday's elections after garnering over 54 percent of the votes cast beating his arch rival Raila Odinga who managed slightly over 54 percent of the votes.
