Richard Onyonka says opposition team would beat Jubilee administration should Raila Odinga remain its presidential candidate.
The opposition is yet to field a candidate to face Uhuru Kenyatta of Jubilee but sources indicate that the technical committee which was put in place is close to making its final report.
Both Raila Odinga, Moses Wetangula, Kalonzo Musyoka and Musalia Mudavadi are keen to clinch the National Super Alliance ticket.
But the Kitutu Chache South MP believes Odinga’s popularity, spirit and reform credentials are vital to hand Jubilee a defeat.
“My honest opinion is that Raila is very popular in different parts of the country unlike his counterparts. He has been consistent in reform agenda and this is a plus for us,” said the former ODM rebel at Gusii stadium on Monday.
“I know all of them want the ticket but Odinga’s candidature would deliver a quick victory. I am however hopeful that the technical committee will settle on a winning candidate,” he said.
Despite the internal competitions among the four principals, they have all pledged to work together to avoid a fallout.
