Experts have now questioned the constitutional validity of the proposed controversial changes to the electoral laws.
According to constitutional and governance expert Barasa Nyukuri, the proposals being pushed by Jubilee MPs are offensive to the law and may be struck off if challenged in court.
Nyukuri said he will challenge the amends in court once the president assents to them.
"Now that the changes are driven by majority in parliament, there is no doubt that they will sail through. I will challenge the laws once the president assents them," Nyukuri said.
He said the changes have brought up constitutional issues and accused the Jubilee legislators for pushing for the electoral law changes ahead of the repeat of presidential polls.
The Electoral Laws (Amendment) Bill 2017, which targets IEBC Act, the Elections Act and Elections Offences Act, were tabled in National Assembly and Senate last week Thursday.
