President Uhuru Kenyatta’s government has been labeled as ‘system ya majamazi’ by opposition leader Raila Odinga, a phrase loosely translated to ‘a government of thugs’.
The President has been facing a tough fight on war against corruption with top government officials implicated in high profile scams.
On Friday, Odinga dismissed the government’s commitment towards fight against graft adding that the president was glorifying corrupt individuals.
“This is a system of Majambazi and they cannot do anything tangible to change the lives of Kenyans. President Uhuru ha given up the fight against corruption and turned his guns on opposition wrongly,” he said.
“The government is glorifying corrupt individual by shielding them from prosecution. They are politicizing what we should fight as a team, an indication that Kenya is becoming a failed state,” added Odinga.
His sentiments were backed by Kitutu Masaba MP Timothy Bosire who urged area residents to vote Jubilee government out of power.
“They have literally infringed our economy by engaging in corruption scandals. We only have one single opportunity to turn tables and that is by voting them out,” he said.
