The Mombasa governor, who seems to be ODM supporters' favorite leader after Raila Odinga, said he cannot be easily swayed with small amounts of money by Jubilee.

“I am on another level. Don’t compare me with people who can be easily swayed with small amounts of money,” he said on Tuesday.

Joho said he was comfortable in the Raila-led party, and could not pledge loyalty to President Uhuru Kenyatta.

He added that Coast residents were firmly in ODM, telling Jubilee Party to stop imagining that they can win their hearts.

He also hit out at those who were allegedly given goodies to ditch ODM for Jubilee, saying they were not after development.

Joho urged Kenyans to stop being fooled with promises of development, as every citizen has that right as stipulated in the Constitution.

“I live a comfortable life and I have everything I wished for when I was growing up. I need nothing more,” he said.

Jubilee Party, during its launch on September 10 announced that at least 10 leaders from the Coast region had defected from ODM.

Kwale governor Salim Mvurya and his Lamu counterpart Issa Timamy are the latest leaders to dump the Orange outfit for Jubilee.

Joho also said that Deputy President William Ruto should abandon his 2022 Presidential ambitions.

DP Ruto has declared interest in succeeding President Kenyatta.

“Raila Odinga will take over (Presidency) next year (2017). In 2022, I will be taking over,” the governor said.
