A Nakuru-based activist has challenged the Jubilee Alliance Party to resettle and compensating all Internally Displaced Persons. James Kaka accused the Jubilee government for not being sincere on most of its pledges and neglecting IDPs of the 2007/08 post poll victims. He said that the TNA and URP parties that came together in the run to the 2013 general elections to form a Jubilee coalition was a marriage of power seeking individuals but not a crusade to create unity and development for all Kenyans. “I challenge the Jubilee government to prove to Kenyans that indeed it is mindful of the welfare of all by first resettling IDPs who are languishing in poverty across the country. The much talked about new Jubilee Alliance party is not a national outfit but a political party for power seeking people," he said. According to the political activist, the president and his deputy should resettle the IDPs in their original homes to prove that their government is concerned about healing the nation and uniting all its citizens. "Where did these people come from? Why can’t they be taken back there to prove that there is unity, harmony and security in the country? If two people came together to foster unity in the country, then there should be no IDPs in the country,’’ said the activist.
