Speaking on Wednesday, Joshua Ndung’u an accountability expert working with a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) in Kiambu states that it is not time for Jubilee and Cord politicians to trade accusations and criticisms over corruption.

Ndung’u says that real culprits linked to the theft of taxpayers’ money must be confronted and dealt with according to the law.

“Politicians are wasting time trading accusations and insults when real suspects of graft scandals are enjoying the loot,” he said.

The expert indicated that politics has to be kept out of war on graft. He stated that political blame games will hinder investigative agencies from conducting proper investigations into alleged graft scandals.

The expert while condemning graft asked Kenyans to speak against the vice.

He said that many Kenyans are not talking against the vice which he said threatens to sabotage the country economic development.

Mr Ndung’u also asked religious leaders and other stakeholders’ to join hands and help the government eliminate graft.

He said that the war against corruption needs concerted efforts.

“Religious leaders, Kenyans, the private sector and other stakeholders must come together and provide measures on how to tame looting of public money,” he said.

Jubilee and Cord politicians are trading insults over alleged rampant graft at the national government level and the counties.

The Jubilee government is accusing the opposition of allegedly protecting governors linked to graft while the opposition is accusing the national government of lacking will to tame rampant graft in some government agencies.

On Tuesday a section of Jubilee politicians linked Suna East MP Junet Mohammed to the National Youth Service (NYS) scandal.

The MPs alleged that Junet benefited from the loot and allegedly share the proceeds with Cord leader Raila Odinga.

The lawmaker has however refuted the c claims accusing the Jubilee government of trying to divert attention on matters graft.
