Speaking in Kiambu county on Tuesday, Tuju said politicians decamping citing the possibility of unfair nominations are only scared of losing.

“Any aspirant saying nominations will not be free and fair is jumping the gun. They have other reasons for wanting to defect," Tuju said.

He said the party’s national elections board will be announced after the conclusion of the ongoing mass voter registration, adding that the party has written to the IEBC seeking its assistance in supervising the party’s nominations in April.

“One can only suspect the process after they have seen so and so in the elections board, who is in the IEBC and what is the process that is going to be followed in this nominations process," he noted.

The former Cabinet Minister added: "At this particular stage, we have not released anything so those speculating that the nominations will not be credible are being unfair to the party."

Tuju spoke after holding a closed-door meeting with Jubilee elected leaders and aspirants from Kiambu County at Sahara West Hotel in Ruaka.

He assured them that the party primaries will be free and fair devoid of any machinations.
