Nyeri MCAs on Tuesday, August 23, fought at the assembly over the impeachment of Governor Nderitu Gachagua in a brawl that also sucked in journalists and county assembly staff.
The fight was between the MCAs supporting the bid to kick Governor Gachagua out and his allies who are opposing the impeachment motion.
Paul Ngiria, Chinga MCA who has opposed the motion, had just driven into the compound and walked past a group ward reps when a war of words ensued between him and the MCAs.
What followed was a physical fight between Ngiria, Kimathi MCA Stephen Mwaniki and Rugi MCA Johnson Njoroge.
Nation journalist Grace Gitau was also attacked by one of the MCAs, who grabbed her camera, twisting her arm in the process, but other journalists intervened.
Meanwhile, County Secretary Alice Wachira on Friday claimed that some MCAs were working on a motion to remove the governor from office.
