ODM chief whip Jakoyo Midiwo has claimed that the Jubilee government is funding pollster, Ipsos Synovate in order to end Raila Odinga's career.
According to Midiwo, Ipsos was openly biased against the Cord leader, going by the recent polling survey findings.
“Ipos should come clean and explain to Kenyans people funding them to ruin Raila’s political career,” said Midiwo on Tuesday during an interview with Citizen Tv.
Midiwo further alleged that some politicians were funding the pollster in order to come up with statistics that will favour their political careers ahead of the 2017 elections.
The Gem legislator called on the government to regulate poll bodies claiming that most of them are not objective.
On Tuesday Ipsos released a survey that showed that majority of Kenyans want Odinga to retire from politics.
The study that sampled 2067 respondents and conducted between 4 and 18 of last month further show that 34 per cent of Cord supporters want Raila to retire while 60 per cent of Jubilee supporters also want the former Prime Minister to retire.
Through its Lead Researcher Tom Wolf, the pollster has defended itself against claims of bias maintaining that its research is objective due to the professionalism involved.
A section of opposition leaders have on several occasions claimed that Jubilee government was funding pollsters to favour them in surveys with aims of confusing Kenyans ahead of the 2017 general elections.
