Wiper Democratic Movement Party has accused Jubilee government of laxity in the fight against corruption.
In an address to the media on Tuesday shortly after the party's National Executive Council meeting, Wiper alleged that the Jubilee administration is deliberately subverting efforts being made by different agencies in the fight against graft.
"Despite our previous calls to the top Jubilee leadership to tame corruption within its ranks and file, our repeated pleas have gone unheeded. This is proof that the Jubilee regime thrives on corruption and hence, the reason it is not keen to stamp it out," Wiper Party's statement read in part.
"Further, there appears to be deliberate efforts to scuttle the fight against corruption by shielding certain personalities from investigations and/or prosecution," the statement added.
The NYS scam and the Afya House scandal are some of the major corruption scandals that have rocked the Jubilee administration in the last four years.
