Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu alias ‘Baba Yao’ now wants the government arrest NASA leader Raila Odinga for taking an illegal oath on Tuesday.
Waititu argues that Raila should not be spared in the crackdown on NASA politicians who planned and administered the oath on Tuesday at Uhuru Park.
Speaking to journalists on the sidelines of the commissioning of the Gatukuyu-Mataara Road in Gatundu North, Kiambu on Thursday, the Jubilee governor said that law should not favour anyone.
“We are asking Interior CS Fred Matiang’i to go after Raila Odinga and ensure that he is arraigned in court for taking an illegal oath,” he said.
Waititu stated that the rule of law must be upheld stating that those thinking they are above it must be dealt with wit ought any mercy.
He said that Raila’s Tuesday swearing-in was an indication that he does not respect the constitution he took part in fighting for.
The Jubilee governor said that NASA leaders must be dealt with accordingly failure t which they will turn the country into an anarchy.
Waititu maintained that president Uhuru Kenyatta is the legally elected head of state adding that he will not be intimidated by the opposition political theatrics.
The Kiambu governor asked Kenyans to shun politicians agitating for anarchy and support Jubilee administration.
The government has launched a crackdown on NASA politicians who took a leading role in Raila’s Tuesday inauguration as the people’s president.
On Wednesday, the government arrested Ruaraka MP T.J Kajwang and charged with two counts of treason.
He was released on Thursday on Sh50, 000 cash bail.On Friday morning, National Resistance Movement (NRM) leader Miguna Miguna was arrested at his Runda home by flying squad police.
The police allegedly blew off Miguna’ gate before accessing the house and arresting him.NASA leader Raila Odinga had on Thursday slammed the police for arresting ‘innocent’ people saying that the police should instead go for him.
This as claims emerge that police could be looking for the former Prime Minister after his Tuesday oath as the people’s president.
The government had warned Raila against the swearing in it had termed highly treasonous.
